Marlene "Marty" Boyce's Obituary
Marlene “Marty” Boyce age 87 went to be with her Lord and Savior on December 23, 2022. Marty was born Sept 26, 1935 to Isaac and Helen (Hawkins) VandeVrede in Grand Rapids Michigan. On February 21, 1952, she married Ronald G. Boyce, and they spent over 50 wonderful years of marriage together before preceded her in death in 2008. Marty was a kind, gentle, and fun-loving person and had a beautiful heart. One of her greatest gifts was how she loved and cared for animals. She loved her savior Jesus Christ, enjoyed raising her 3 children and spending time with family. She resided in Fruitport, Michigan since 2005 in Stillwater Springs Condominium complex. She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons: Kit (Barbara), Kris (Lori), and Kal (Jamie); four grandchildren: Michael, Ryan, Kristle, and Travis; one great-granddaughter, Emma; brother, Russel VandeVrede; and long-time friend, Nancy Hentchel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Isaac and Helen; husband, Ronald; brother, Kent VandeVrede; and sister, Dee VandeVrede. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 5, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the services, from 10:00 - 11:00 AM. Memorial contributions can be made out to Christian Care Memory Center, The Harbor Hospice Foundation, or the Alzheimer’s Association.
