Marlene Fitzgerald's Obituary
Mrs. Marlene Fitzgerald, age 71, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on July 10, 2017. She was born in Muskegon on November 9, 1945 to James and Armilda (Henry) Howard and resided in Muskegon County all her life. Marlene graduated from Muskegon Community College as a Registered Nurse. She loved helping people, especially at the Muskegon Regional Center for the Developmentally Disabled, where she worked until they closed. Marlene married her husband, Bob, on March 27, 1965. They spent numerous winters in Sebring, Florida where they made many great friends. They also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and several cruises. One of Marlene’s favorite past times was trips to the casino where she enjoyed playing penny slot machines. She also loved shopping, of any type, even for groceries. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents and one great-grandchild. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bob Fitzgerald; children, Bob (Tracey) Fitzgerald, Nerita (Dick) Czarny, Michelle (Craig) Oliver and Connie (Mark) Mathews; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Nerita Howard; brothers, Jim (Alyson) Howard and Marv (Ann) Howard and several nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be 11:00 AM Saturday, July 15, 2017 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service.
