Marlene Groothuis' Obituary
Marlene, age 89, passed away on April 19, 2025, into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ at Harbor Terrace Assisted Living in Muskegon, MI. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan on June 30, 1935, to Leonard and Alice Langler.
She married the love of her life, Don Groothuis on January 15, 1956 and they shared over 69 years together. Marlene leaves behind in this world her husband Don, their 3 sons: Robert (Cheryl); Brian; Steve (Dana), along with their grandchildren: Jason, Kevin, Jessica, Taylor, Marissa and Bradley, as well as 3 great-grandchildren. Left behind as well are nieces & nephews, extended family members and many friends and loved ones who were touched through the years by her kindness, gentleness, grace, faith and love.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Anchor Point Bible Church, 635 Seminole Rd., Norton Shores, MI 49441. Dr. Robert N. Renberg Jr. will be officiating. Visitation will be available from 1 – 2 p.m. before the service at the church. A time of coffee and cake with refreshments will take place after the service for the family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to Interim Hospice and/or the Memorial Fund of Anchor Point Bible Church in Norton Shores. The family would like to thank Interim Hospice and the staff at Harbor Terrace for the loving care Marlene received.
