Marlene Patricia Shields' Obituary
Marlene Patricia Shields, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, with her family by her side, December 28, 2024 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on March 17, 1961 to Joseph and Frances (Ostradick) Butas. Marlene dedicated over 20 years of her life to Trinity Health, serving as a beloved Guest Service Representative until her medical retirement. Prior to that, she was employed as a cosmetologist, working primarily at The Hair Loft. Marlene’s true passion was her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and her loyal dog, Charlie. Marlene also found joy in simple pleasures, like trips to the casino and shopping excursions. Her warm and caring spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, Stacey (Matthew) Dundon and Justin Shields; her four precious grandchildren, Maddison, Brody, Leo, and Beckham; her sister, Michele (David) Butas Letherby; and her former husband and friend, Kurt Shields. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Antoniette Butas Lehnert, Joseph Butas, and Charles Butas. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE open house will be held immediately following her memorial service at the Mona Lake Boat Club, 372 Randall Road, Norton Shores, MI 49441.
