Mrs. Marlene Aloha Wilks' Obituary
Mrs. Marlene A. Wilks, age 70, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, September 28, 2017, surrounded by her family. Marlene was born November 1, 1946 to John and Janet “Ruth” (Smith) Sheffer in Muskegon. On September 16, 1967, she married Lyle A. Wilks and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2013. She was employed with American Coil Spring for 41 years until her retirement in 2007. Marlene enjoyed camping, hunting, ceramics, adult coloring books, gaming; but most of all, she enjoyed time with her family. She was the ultimate wife and mother, supporting all her family’s endeavors. She will be deeply missed by her children, Kelly (James) Busch, Janet (Britt) Miller, and Betty (Brent) Temple; Allen Wilks, James Wilks, Timothy Wilks and Scott (Kathy) Wilks; her 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; her brothers, William Sheffer and Rodney Beyer; and several nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; great granddaughter, Olivia Busch; grandson, Scott Wilks Jr; daughter-in-law, Kim Wilks; and sister-in-law, Fran Sheffer. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at Holton United Methodist Church (9530 Holton-Duck Lake Rd) with Pastor Jerry Selleck officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM). BURIAL will take place in E. Dalton Oakhill Cemetery.
