Marlene Joy "Marti" Taylor's Obituary
Mrs. Marlene Joy “Marti” Taylor, age 71, passed away Thursday, June 14, 2007 at a local hospital. She was born May 11, 1936 in Grand Rapids, MI to Frederick and Mildred (Burby) James and lived in the Muskegon area most of her life. On September 21, 2001, she married Barton H. Taylor in Muskegon. She was a very active member of First Congregational Church where she and Barton started the “Saturday Morning Breakfasts” which continue to be held. She was also active in the Women’s Fellowship at church and volunteered for the Meals on Wheels program. SURVIVORS include her husband, Barton; 2 daughters, Jan Cooper and Brenda (Joseph) Nicolai; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, June 19, 2007 in the Walker Memorial Chapel at First Congregational Church with the Rev. Timothy VanderHaar officiating. VISITATION will be held one hour prior to the service, 12-1 PM Tuesday in the Church Parlor. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to the Saturday Morning Breakfasts at First Congregational Church.
