Martha L. Dolle's Obituary
Martha Lou (Lang) Dolle, 91, of Whitehall MI passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 10th, 2024, at SKLD Home. She is survived by her daughter Karen Dolle, son Mark Dolle (Lisa Dewitt), granddaughter Megan Bate (Adam Bate), as well as Nancy Dolle, Michael Tew (Dale Domke), and Becky & Frank Cole who were all dear to her in life. Martha was the only child of Lewis and Esther Lang of Mishawaka IN, where she was raised until attending Bradley University and studying English prior to her marriage in 1952. She raised two children on the shores of Lake Michigan with her late ex-husband, Joe, before moving to Whitehall and working at Howmet for 23 years. It was there that she met Gordon Burmeister, who would be a close companion to her until his death in 2012. She also remained close with lifelong friends, George and Pauline Davidson, spending several summers at their home on Sugar Island catching up on life and making memories with her granddaughter. Martha will be remembered for many things, not least of which was her volunteer work with several organizations including Des Colores, March of Dimes, McMillan Elementary, and Mission for Area People. She faithfully attended Fruitland Evangelical Church and Community United Methodist Church, most often expressing her faith and ministry through birthday cards and prayer calls. She will be deeply missed by those who love her, but we know she is at peace, reunited with her beloved family and three rescued dogs who waited so patiently for her. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Noah Project of Muskegon or Community United Methodist Church in North Muskegon.
