Martha E. "Marti" Robbins' Obituary
Mrs. Martha E. “Marti” Robbins, age 71, passed away early Monday morning September 14, 2009. She was born June 25, 1938 in Muskegon to William L. and Esther V. (McMillan) Scott. Marti worked at the House of Chan and then worked 35 years as a waitress for Doo Drop Inn before retiring. She was a member of Lakeside United Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School in the summers. Marti loved her grandchildren and her work at Doo Drop Inn. She also enjoyed motorcycle and motor home trips across the country with her husband. On February 18, 1956 she married Larry D. Robbins in Muskegon and he survives her along with 5 children, Scott (Natalie) Robbins, Steve (Kate) Robbins, Ken (Sandy) Robbins, Rick (Julie) Robbins, Laura (fiance, Marty Klassen) Robbins all of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren; former son-in-law, Kevin Hepler; former daughter-in-law, Jacki Robbins; sister, Susan (Dar) Hinken of Whitehall; mother-in-law, Bertha Robbins of Muskegon; 2 brothers-in-law, Bob Tolar and Ron Wigren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Dee St. Amour; the Car Hop Girls; and the Doo Drop Gang. She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 sisters, Barb Tolar, Jean Slaterline, Mary Johnson, and Nancy Wigren. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Thursday at Lakeside United Methodist Church with Dr. Zawdie Abiade officiating. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Wednesday at
