Mr. Martin H. Huizenga's Obituary
Mr. Martin H. Huizenga, age 92, went to be with his Lord on Sunday afternoon, February 2, 2014. He was born June 10, 1921 in Muskegon to Henry and Lottie (Herlein) Huizenga. Martin was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII and worked 37 years for E. H. Sheldon’s before retiring. Mr. Huizenga was a longtime, active supporter and member of Trinity Lutheran Church. A very important part of his life were his family and nieces and nephews. On June 29, 1946 he married Margaret M. Wentzloff in Muskegon and she preceded him in death on February 25, 2007. Marty and Margaret did many things, but always together. They liked to travel, enjoying Florida and many other places. SURVIVORS include 17 nieces and nephews and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Henry and Lois Huizenga, and his sister and brother-in-law, Janet and John VanHaften. SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Mark Zimmerman officiating. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions to Harbor Hospice will be appreciated.
