Martin H. Carlson's Obituary
Mr. Martin H. Carlson, age 80, passed away early Sunday morning, June 19, 2005. He was born on August 16, 1924 to Hubert & Etta (McWilliams) Carlson, and had resided in the area all of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1982, he had worked for Dresser as an Electrical Service Engineer for 35 years. Mr. Carlson enjoyed playing golf, bowling, fly fishing and hunting, and belonged to the Hi-Nabors square dance club. On May 11, 1946 he married the former Frances L. Weimer, in Muskegon, and she survives him along with 4 children, Sandra (Kenneth) Budnik of Princeton, TX, Christine (Clifford) Zeedyk of Muskegon, Louise (Gregory) Weaver of Fruitport, and Brian (Sally) Carlson of Troy, MI; along with 7 grandchildren Chad Zeedyk, Traci (Jason) Petrowski, Sherry (Jason) Arp, Rick Budnik, Jennifer (Kurt) Witt, Patrick Carlson, Thomas Carlson; and 2 great-granddaughters Katelyn Arp and Meridythe Witt; sister-in-law Henrietta Weimer and several nieces and nephews. Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, Inc. 737 Apple Ave. with Pastor Kyle DeYoung, of Unity Reformed Church, officiating. Visitation with the family will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Tuesday. Interment will take place at Sunrise Memorial Garden. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mr. Carlson can be made to American Heart Association or Hospice of Muskegon/Oceana.
