Martin W. "Marty" Schoenmaker's Obituary
Mr. Martin W. “Marty” Schoenmaker, age 79, passed away Saturday evening, July 8, 2006. He was born April 7, 1927 in Grand Rapids to George and Hattie (Decheny) Schoenmaker and had been a life resident. Mr. Schoenmaker worked for Teledyne Continental Motors for 38 years before retiring in 1990. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, a member of the American Legion, and the VFW. He was also an avid golfer and outdoorsman. In June of 1952, he married the former Sadie Mae “Sue” Orcutt in Kalamazoo, and she preceded him in death on January 6, 1994. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Rodney (Vickie) Schoenmaker of Fruitport, Jill (William) Cartwright of Muskegon; 5 grandchildren, April, Joshua, Hillary, Amanda, Louis; 1 great-granddaughter, Adrienne; brother, Robert (Pat) Schoenmaker of Muskegon; 3 sisters, Betty Hall of Muskegon, Shirley (Denny) Lohman of Whitehall, Phyllis (Ron) Hartman of Muskegon; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Louise. He was also preceded in death by a brother, George. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at
