Mrs. Marva Mauryne Nelson's Obituary
Mrs. Marva Mauryne Nelson, age 79, passed away Saturday, September 20, 2014 in Muskegon. She was born in Muskegon on September 29, 1934 to Clarence and Hazel (VanVleet) Baker and was a life resident of the area. Marva had attended Fellowship Reformed Church and Orchard View Congregational Church. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and knitting. On August 26, 1955, Marva married Raymond Nelson in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on September 7, 1991. She is survived by seven children, Edwin Nelson, John (Connie) Nelson, Marva Rae (Dan) Farber, Gayle (Brenda) Nelson, Mary (David) Pruitt, Phillip Nelson and Daniel Nelson; 23 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and one sister, Marcia (David) Lash. In addition to her husband, Marva was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Christopher Nelson; three brothers and two sisters. SERVICES will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Orchard View Congregational Church with Rev. Craig Cramblet officiating. VISITATION will be from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday, September 22, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100. Burial will be in Egelston Township Cemetery.
