I posted a notice of Great Grandma Sable passing away on Facebook back on Sunday. There were a number of responses to me including how some school mates of mine mentioning that they, their siblings, and a parent, all had her as 3rd grade teacher. Wow! I can not even imagine how many children she influenced as well as my brothers and myself.
There are too many memories to chronicle of this lady by those friends and myself remembering her as graceful, a lady, and a great teacher. Oh, and a pretty good dancer even to these later days (If I didn't have two left feet maybe I'd be able to say the same sometime.)
I started thinking about what I would write this morning after shoveling four inches of snow here in Denver and could only smile and say to myself that it was like being a kid with one hand on the handle bars of my bike and the other one dragging our lawn mower from Royal Oak St to her house to mow the lawn which I did...weekly. I'm not sure if I was volunteered by my mother or asked??? It was not a chore and came without a treat or beverage every time.
Grandma Sable, keep smiling and know there are a number of individuals out there that think of you fondly.
Regards,
JDH
