Marva Jane Tyler's Obituary
Mrs. Marva Jane Tyler, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home, surrounded by her family. Marva conquered cancer. She lived a miracle for nearly 17 years and enjoyed her life thoroughly. She was born in Muskegon on January 21, 1949 to Marvin and Barbara (Haines) Klassen. Marva grew up in Muskegon Heights, graduated from Western Michigan University, and was a proud Orchard View teacher for many years. She had tremendous friends and loved spending time with them. Marva loved talking to people, whether she knew them or not, was kind to every person, and didn’t know a stranger. She had a strong bond with all of her children and grandchildren, and was the best human being there could be. Marva was a member of Unity Reformed Church where she actively volunteered, mentored for Kids Hope and Family Promise, and taught Sunday School and Bible School. Her footprints will be remembered. On August 26, 1972, Marva married Richard Tyler and they recently celebrated their 44th wedding anniversary. In addition to her husband, Marva is survived by their three children, Annette Grace (Mike) Conn, Molly Marijane (Jason) Sweeney, Greg (Mindy) Tyler; six grandchildren, Isabelle, Willow and Mikelle Conn, Kendall and Cole Sweeney and Madelyn Tyler; one sister, Marilyn Gardner; two brothers, Dale (Patsy) Klassen and Paul (Sally) Klassen, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd.) with Rev. Walter Jones officiating. VISITATION will be from 9-11 AM Saturday at church. MEMORIALS in memory of Marva may be made to Karmanos Cancer Institute (4100 John Road, Detroit, MI 48201) or to Kids Hope USA (100 S. Pine St. Ste. 280, Zeeland, MI 49464).
