Marva Jean Shatney's Obituary
Mrs. Marva Jean Shatney went home to be with her Lord on September 24, 2004. Marva was born in Muskegon, MI to Wilfred and Hannah Senecal and lived her entire life in Muskegon. She married Theodore “Ted” Shatney on May 3, 1940. Marva and her family were always proud of the fact that she was one of the first avid women realtors in this area. She worked for Tri-City Realtors for twenty years and always felt blessed to have the opportunity to work with and help people with their needs. Marva was cherished by her family and will be truly missed and remembered in the hearts of many. She was a member of St. Francis deSales Catholic Church. Marva is survived by her husband, Ted; 2 sons, Patrick (Rebecca) Shatney of Muskegon; Paul (Luanne) Shatney of Delray Beach, FL; 1 daughter, Peggy Rozycki of Norton Shores; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Ralph Senecal of Muskegon and Wayne (Gloria) Senecal of St. Joseph, MI; and special family friend, Peter Rozycki of Muskegon. She was preceded in death by her son, Peter Shatney. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Monday, September 27, 2004 at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., (231) 759-8565 with Mr. William McCabe, Permanent Deacon, presiding. INTERMENT will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION with Marva’s family will be one hour prior to the service, 10-11 AM Monday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the Arthritis Foundation.
