Mrs. Marvel E. Vig's Obituary
Mrs. Marvel E. Vig, 89, passed away Tuesday morning, December 15, 2015. She was born March 8, 1926 to Charles and Grace (Stuart) Lindsey in Thompsonville, MI, and lived most her life in the Muskegon area. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, enjoyed cooking and traveling. Most of all she loved being a wife, mom, and grandma. On October 13, 1951 she married Joseph C. Vig, and he preceded her in death on August 10, 2013. Survivors include 3 children, LuAnn (Tom) Ruthkoski of Norton Shores, Dianne L. Vig of Clermont, FL, Joseph Carl Vig, Jr. of Grand Rapids; 4 grandchildren, Traci Ruthkoski, Jason Ruthkoski, Joseph Carl Vig, III, and Eric Vig. She was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Violet Aardema, Agnes Cutler, and Mildred Czeryba; and 2 brothers, Warren and Loren Lindsey. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Friday, December 18, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Marian Chapel, with the Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson presiding. Burial will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. will be from 5-8 PM Thursday, with the Rosary prayed at 5:30 PM.
