I met Marv when was a college freshman and in need of a car loan. Little did we know a dozen years later that a couple of Spartan alumni would become colleagues working at First State Bank. We became good friends and often sought each other’s knowledge and advice on both professional and personal matters. Up until the sale of FSB to the former Old Kent Bank the entire bank and personnel worked as a tight knit efficient entity. I left pursuing other professional employment remaining a good friend to Marv and others. I have had a variety of employment and life experiences with numerous individuals over the years and though our paths went in separate directions my memories of that entire time remain strong. In fact among the many people I have known, Marv stands out as one of the few decent and genuine human beings I have ever had the pleasure and honor to know.
Izetta, I am so very sorry about the passing of Marv. In the days ahead, when it all seems so overwhelming draw strength from your many memories and the bond you both have had over the years. Please find the time and space to take care of yourself in all of this.
Dear Izetta and family, So very sad to hear of Marvs passing. He was one of the best people I have ever met or worked with. I always looked forward to going to work and seeing Marv. Everyone loved him including me. He lit up a party like no one else. Always ready to have a good time. So very sorry for your loss.
Dear Izetta and family, I was shocked to hear of Marvin's passing. He was always the best and most kind person at the First State Bank of Greenville and later Old Kent Bank, Greenville Branch. He was almost always the first one there and the last one to leave. He always fixed up thoughtful things for all the holidays to surprise everyone. I have not seen either of you in years. We have been losing many of our group, but Marv is too young! I live in Ocala Florida with my husband Dick.We don't get to Michigan very often any more, Dick is 88 and I am 87 so we only fly now. We will be happy to send a check to the Hospice as requested. Please send the address to us at 9057 SW 70th Loop, Ocala, Florida 34481. We send you our sympathy, and many prayers with much Love Dick and Jan Cantwell
Miss and love you Uncle Marv❤️ I cherish the memories
