Marvin J. Blanshine's Obituary
Marvin John Blanshine, age 77, passed away on Friday, November 8, 2019. He was born on February 6, 1942 to Ernest and Rita (Randall) Blanshine in Muskegon. Marvin worked as a Chief Steward and Machine Repairman at Muskegon Camshaft, Muskegon Piston Ring and finally retiring from Keene Kaydon Corp. in 1991. He was an avid gardener, pool payer, hunter and fisherman. He canned what he grew and would always feed his wild pet turkeys. Marvin attended Muskegon Catholic Central and later went on to get a business degree from Muskegon Community College. During his youth he pole vaulted, played football, softball and baseball. He will be missed by everyone who met him. Marvin is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Nancy Blanshine; daughters, Michelle Blanshine, Joyce (Robert) Spencer, Susan (Paul) Blanshine, Katelyn Rose Blanshine; grandchildren, Amy (Philip) Grondsma, Bobby (Jennie) Spencer, Tori (Glenn) Pierce, Jordan (Mackenzie) Blanshine, Jakob Spencer; great-grandchildren, Serenna, Soren, Wyatt, Waylon, Lucas, Autumn; siblings, Rollin Blanshine, Linda Krueger and John (Jack) Blanshine; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. A CELEBRATION OF MARVIN’S LIFE will take place on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at DJ’s Pub and Grill (2064 Henry St.).
