Marvin Fred Brott Sr.'s Obituary
Marvin F. Brott Sr. “Buck,” age 89, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was born in Muskegon, MI to Merle and Marion (Carlson) Brott, and has been a lifelong resident. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1955.
After high school, Marv went on to be a mechanic and retired from Brunswick in 1992. His many years of being a mechanic led to the love of his cars. Some or many may know him as the “Legend” when it came to souping up cars. His passion and devotion for auto modifications didn’t stop there, he went on to share that passion with his children and grandchildren, teaching them all he could. Marv didn’t just love his cars; he also was an avid bowler and was a part of the Greater Muskegon Bowling Association and served as President for some time. He will be remembered for his humor and always making people laugh. All who had the privilege to know him loved him.
He will be remembered by his five children, Lori (Dave) Yaros, Marvin Brott Jr., TerriSue Collins, Scott (Donna) Brott, and Meri Phelps; 12 grandchildren, Matthew (Brandi) Yaros, Amanda Yaros, Josh (Tracey) Brott, Jeremy (Casey) Collins, Rick (Jessica) Elrod, Karley (Kevin) Davis, Shannon Carr, Michelle (Ron) Bacon, Justin Phelps, Jerrett (Chelsea) Phelps, Jenna (Jacob) Perry, and Shana (Jeff) Sischo; 23 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carol; and two sisters, Doris Putnam and Beverly Pertner. Memorial contributions in his honor can be made to Pound Buddies.
