Mr. Marvin W. Brown's Obituary
Mr. Marvin Brown, 88, went to be with his Lord on December 25, 2012. Born June 18, 1924 to William and Elsie (Rop) Brown, he was a life resident of Muskegon. Marv attended Muskegon High School and served his country in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a lifetime member of Bethany Christian Reformed Church, where he served as an Elder and Deacon, and where he married Ethel Workman on June 23, 1950. Marv had worked at the Norge, Stationery Supply Co. and HardwareDistributors where he worked for several years and retired as part-owner in the late 1990's. He enjoyed his family and friends, golfing and serving his church; and had been a member of the YMCA, Optimist Club, and the Rescue Mission board. His SURVIVORS include his wife of 62 years, Ethel; sons Arthur (Patricia) Brown and David (Bonnie Adamczak); five grandchildren: Kristy (Greg) Shoemaker, Lindsay (Tim) Molenbeek, Stephanie (Nathan) Kooistra, Emily and Cameron Brown; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister Beverly (Marvin) Carlson. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Arthur Eugene Brown in WWII, and a nephew Doug Carlson. The FUNERAL SERVICE for Marvin Brown will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Bethany Christian Reformed Church, 1105 Terrace St. at Hartford, with Rev. David Sieplinga officiating and interment in Oakwood Cemetery. VISITATION will be 5-8 P.M. Friday at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441, 231-759-8565.
