Marvin C. Carlson's Obituary
Marvin Carl Carlson, age 88, passed away on March 18, 2016 at Christian Care. He was born on August 9, 1927 to Enoch and Emily (Norman) Carlson in Muskegon. Marvin served his country in the US Army during WW II. Marv was a member of Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall. He enjoyed golfing, antique cars, boats and motorcycles. Marv was the owner of Seaver Carlson Construction for 23 years, retiring in 1983. On November 18, 1949, he married Beverly R. Brown in Muskegon and she survives him along with two sons, Daniel (Debbie) Carlson of Spokane Valley, WA and David (Loree) Carlson of Aurora, OR; two grandchildren, Douglas Carlson and Sarah Carlson; brother, Alden (Marilyn) Carlson and many nieces and nephews. Marv was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Douglas Carlson; two brothers, Laurin Carlson and Roger Carlson; and sister, Melva Seaver. Many thanks to the staff of Christian Care in Muskegon for the wonderful and blessed care they provided. A FUNERAL SERVICE and Military Rites will be held 11:00AM, Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall (900 Warner St.) with Pastor Tom Beeghly officiating. VISITATION with the family will be one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS can be directed to Evangelical Covenant Church of Whitehall Building Fund. Burial will take place at Oakhurst Cemetery in Whitehall.
