Marvin F. Frein Jr.'s Obituary
Marvin Frederick “Marv” “Porky” Frein Jr., age 79, passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2024. He was born August 5, 1945, in Muskegon to Marvin and Vera (Wilkinson) Frein Sr. Marv graduated from Muskegon High School in 1964 and worked for Shaw Walker as a welder for 34 years prior to his retirement in 2004. On June 25, 1965, he married the former Sandra Ann Rust in Muskegon. Marv enjoyed the outdoors. He loved fishing and tending to his garden. He also enjoyed jig saw puzzles, bowling, going to casinos and playing cards. Marv was also an avid Tigers, Lions, and Red Wings fan. But most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and he loved spending time with his family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Marv is survived by his wife, Sandra; two sons: Daniel (Brenda) Frein and Marvin (Christine) Frein III; grandchildren: Joshua (Shelby) Williams, Jacob Frein, Nicholas Frein, Alex Frein, Amanda Frein, and Breanna (Nathan) Eisenhardt; great-grandchildren: Harrison Williams, Ethan Frein, and Reese Williams; siblings: Barbara Hoerle and Karon Hall; sisters-in-law: Sue Bowen and Connie Rust; brother-in-law, Ed (Gayle) Rust; numerous nieces and nephews; uncle, Ed (Judy) Frein; and dear friends: William “Bud” Harper, Bob Perkins, Gilbert Hall, and Alan Long. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers-in-law: Jim Hoerle, Tom Bowen, Claude Rust, and Steve Hall. SERVICES for Marv will be held 12 Noon on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442 (231) 726-5210. VISITATION with the family will be from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2024. He will be laid to rest in Holton Oakwood Cemetery. MEMORIALS to Pound Buddies will be appreciated.
