Marvin J. DeJonge's Obituary
Mr. Marvin J. DeJonge, age 87, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2007 at his residence. He was born on November 23, 1919 to Marinus and Hattie (Jorritsma) DeJonge in Detroit, MI. He worked as a salesman for the Keebler Company prior to his retirement in 1980. He attended Bethany Christian Reformed Church and served his country in Army during WWII. On April 17, 1946 he married Wilmina Dyk in Grand Rapids and she preceded him in death on January 14, 1999. SURVIVORS include 1 son, Douglas DeJonge; 2 grandsons, Michael DeJonge and his mother, Deborah, and Craig DeJonge and his mother, Kathleen; 1 great-grandchild; 1 sister, Margaret Villada; in-laws, Joan (Harvey) Wolbert, Ella Topp and Helen Dyk; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. DeJonge was also preceded in death by his parents and 1 son, Greg DeJonge. In accordance with Mr. DeJonge’s wishes, a service has not been planned and his body has been donated to medical science research at Michigan State University.
