Marvin R. DeHaan, MD's Obituary
Marvin R. DeHaan, MD, age 84, passed away Monday afternoon, September 19, 2011 in Muskegon. He was born November 18, 1926 to Martin R. and Priscilla (Ven Huisen) DeHaan in Grand Rapids. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, enjoyed studying the Bible, and fishing. Dr. DeHaan practiced family medicine and psychiatry, and was a member of Calvary Church in Fruitport. On March 21, 1952 he married Marilyn Johnson. SURVIVORS include his wife Marilyn; 4 children, Mark (Deidre) DeHaan, MD of Ada, MI, Charles (Mary) DeHaan, MD, of Rockford, IL, Christopher M. (Lisa) DeHaan of Tucson, AZ, Carol Molinari of Peoria, IL; 12 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, M.R. DeHaan, founder of Radio Bible Class, and his mother Priscilla; 1 brother Richard; 3 sisters, June, Marge, and Ruth. A celebration of Dr. DeHaan’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, at the Maranatha Bible Conference Family Life Center, 4759 Lake Harbor Rd., Norton Shores, 49441, with Rev. Eric Strattan and Rev. Christopher M. DeHaan officiating, followed by a time of visitation with the family and friends.
