Mary Ann "Micki" Raffaele's Obituary
Mary Ann “Micki” Raffaele, age 71, passed away Monday, November 11, 2024 following a very courageous fight against ALS. Micki was born July 31, 1953 in Muskegon to Willie and Louetta (Wimmer) Chumley and was a life long resident of the area. She worked as a cosmetologist for Meijer, Inc and later owned her own salon in her home. On October 7, 1989, she married Andrew C. Raffaele in Muskegon, MI and he survives her. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Micki was a very gifted artist and enjoyed painting. She also had a talent making jewelry and finding rare antiques. Her greatest joy was being the “best Grandma” and “Gigi”. Survivors include her loving husband, Andrew Raffaele; 4 children, Renee (Clifford) Rundle, Heidi (Jason) Dykstra, Andrew Raffaele, Raquel Raffaele; 13 grandchildren, Kala Moore, Briana Rundle, Skylor Boone, Damien Flowers, Peighton Flowers, Eli Dykstra, Andrew Raffaele III, Brandon Raffaele, Arriana Gardner, Chantley Yack, Amanda Castrejon, Katie Saavedra, Kenneth Yack; and 15 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Jack Chumley, Carol Wynn, William (Tina) Chumley, Jim Mastenbrook ; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Cleo, and brother Terry. Visitation will be held 5-8 PM Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, December 5, 2024 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 2929 McCracken Street, Norton Shores, MI 49441, with Rev. Steve Geerling presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Luncheon following. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Susan Mast ALS Foundation. After the Christmas Holiday, there will be a Celebration of Life Open House held from 2-7 PM on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Fruitport Eagles (3354 S. Dangl Road, Muskegon, MI 49444).
