Mary P. Aragon's Obituary
Mary P. Aragon, age 86, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2020. She was born February 9, 1934 in Hubbardston, MI to Incencio and Martha (Garcia) Gomez. On December 31, 1954, she married Lawrence L. Aragon in Muskegon and he preceded her in death on February 10, 2004. Mary was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Catholic Church and had been a longtime member of the former St. Jean de Baptiste Catholic Church where she volunteered many years for the Church Fiesta at the snow cone stand. Mary was very generous and giving to family and friends over the years. Her kitchen cupboards became a food pantry for anyone in need as she was always giving away food and goodies to so many people. You never left Mary’s home empty-handed. She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Survivors include 2 brothers, Incencio “Shorty” (Joyce) Gomez, Raul “Rollo” Gomez; 1 sister, Mary Helen Patricio. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; 5 brothers, Bill, Tom, John, Luis, and Joe; and 3 sisters, Nicholas, Frances and Jovita. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (196 W. Webster Ave.) with the Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding. Visitation will be held one hour prior to Mass with the Rosary prayed at 9:30 AM Tuesday. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Arrangements handled by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442.
