Mary L. Barker's Obituary
Mary Louise Barker of Norton Shores went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, December 29, 2018. She was born in Muskegon, Michigan, on December 9, 1946 to Lilas Paige and Stanley Paige. Mary was a loving mother, sister, wife and friend. Throughout her life she was active in her church, community and was always willing to volunteer her time and spirit. She spent many years working with the Girl Scouts of America, Mission for Area People and numerous other organizations. She was a proud member of the “Soul Sisters” of Temple UMC, a group which included many of her dearest friends. Mary enjoyed gardening, reading and travel. Above all else, Mary was a selfless woman who lived her life to help others and was known to never give up on someone in need. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lilas Paige, father, Stanley Paige, sister, Patricia (William) Albrecht and brother, Jon Paige. She is survived by her beloved husband, Charlie Barker; children: Bradley Barker, Wesley (Amanda) Barker & Elliott Wallace; sister, Susan (James) Rewa; sister-in-law, Cara Lee Paige; two half siblings: Peader O’Tyrrell & Pamela Latourneau; and numerous nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE celebrating her life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Temple United Methodist Church (2500 Jefferson St. in Muskegon Heights).
