Mary Bialik's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Bialik, age 90, passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 21, 2008. She was born in Munising, MI August 13, 1918 to Thomas and Katherine Mikos. In 1928 the family moved to Ravenna where she graduated in 1937. Mary married John Bialik August 31, 1940 at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 30, 1989. Mary and John had owned and operated Johnny’s Bar at Kelly’s corners for 15 years prior to their retirement. Mary had also worked for Dr. Louis Beechnau. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Mary was a former member of the Altar Societies of both St. Michael and St. Catherine’s Catholic Churches, as well as Our Lady of Grace’s Ladies Guild. She served as Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Zephyrhills, FL. Mary had a passion for polka music, loved to dance, enjoyed arts and crafts, as well as a fantastic cook. She is SURVIVED by 2 sons, Paul (Sharon) and John (Wendy) Bialik both of Muskegon; her daughter, Rosemary (David) Asmus of Grand Rapids; 7 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Anna Mullen of Muskegon and Rose (John) Twork of Danville,IL; 1 brother, Charles (Emma) Mikos of Ravenna; and several nieces and nephews. Mary was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Steve and John Mikos. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11 AM Friday, October 24, 2008 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (451 S. Getty St.) with Rev. Fr. Michael Olson as celebrant. VISITATION will be Thursday from 5-8 PM at
