Mary Ann Bisson's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann Bisson, 79, passed away unexpectedly August 19, 2021, in Muskegon. She was born July 4, 1942, in Spring Lake, to Gerritt and Margaret (Pleasant) Van Oordt and lived all her life in the West Michigan area. She was a longtime member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was the librarian at the school for many years. She also, in her younger years, worked for JC Whitney and worked in the office at Eagle Ottawa Leather. She worked with the Boy Scouts for many years and was a strong member of the Cursillo movement in Muskegon County. On October 17, 1964, she married Ernest J. Bisson, Jr. and he preceded her in death on February 4, 2011. She was also preceded by her daughter Diana Lynn Bisson who passed at birth on June 28, 1970. Survivors include five children: Theresa (James) Perigard, Ernest (Laura) Bisson III, Ronald Bisson, Michele Busman, Gregory Bisson; 23 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard (Jeanne) Van Oordt. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, August 25, at 11:00 AM at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 Sixth St., Muskegon. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd, Muskegon, MI 49441 will be Tuesday, August 24, from 5-8 PM with a family time of sharing starting at 7:00 followed by the Rosary.
