Mary Catherine Burns' Obituary
Mary Catherine Burns, age 65, passed away Friday, August 12, 2016 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was born in Muskegon on February 23, 1951 to Lyle and Jacqueline (Beebe) VerHulst. Mary had worked at Howmet Corporation for 30 years before retiring in 1999. She was a member of St. Mary of the Woods, attended St. Thomas Catholic Church and was a member of the Local 1243 UAW Retirees Chapter. She was an avid gardener. Mary loved unselfishly; every day and everyone. She is survived by her three sons, Edward Budde, David Budde and Adam (Katie) Burns; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Corbin, Jasper and Klaira; one brother, Lyle “Skip” (Diana) VerHulst; three sisters, Karen (Don) Cross, Victoria (Tom) Kuipers and Jacqueline Fraser; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Gloria Dillard, JoAnn Bennett and Brenda Eaton. Her MEMORIAL MASS will be CELEBRATED 11:00 AM Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Peter Vu presiding. VISITATION with her family will be one hour prior to her service. MEMORIALS in Mary’s name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
