Mary Jane Carlston's Obituary
Mary Jane Carlston, age 80, passed away Thursday, March 29, 2018, at home after a brief illness. Born January 2, 1938 to Charles and Clarice Osborn in Muskegon, she was a lifelong resident. She was a stay at home mom who later worked at Lee’s Sinker and Tackle, and also St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Mary Jane enjoyed cooking, baking, card making, quilting with friends and walking to Lake Michigan from her home. She especially enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. SURVIVORS include her children: Karen (Steve) Dault, Greg (June) Carlston, James (Julie) Carlston; grandchildren: Lindsay (Kiel) Reid, Sarah (Matt) Boes, Leah, Abby, Lexi and Brendan Carlston; great-grandchildren: Aurelia and Grayson; 1 brother: Phillip (Marilou) Osborn; 1 sister: Marilyn (George) Meyers; sister-in-law: Edna Osborn; step-children: Susan (Richard) DenHollander, Mary (Richard) Ranum, Constance Graham; and their children; many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Joyce and Beulah; brothers: Theodore and Charles; husband Ben Mielzarek; and former husband Leroy Carlston.
