Mrs Mary Ann Christophersen's Obituary
Mary Ann (Cook) Christophersen, age 56, passed away on May 5, 2014. She was born in Muskegon on February 15, 1958, to the late James and Bernice Cook. Mary was a graduate of Mona Shores High School and Kendall College of Art and Design. On July 25, 1992, she married Joe Christophersen. She was employed at Hackley Bank and Horizon Group before becoming a full time wife and mother. Mary devoted her life to her husband, children, family, and friends. She shared her smile and love with everyone around her. She loved flower gardening, yard work, sewing, creating works of art, bargain hunting, and was quite the handywoman. Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Joe, and her precious children, Joey and Audra. She is also survived by her twin sister, Betty (David) Bickford, and her brothers, Jim (Pat) Cook, Deacon William C. (Mary Jane) Cook, Tom (Marsha) Cook, and David (Patti) Cook. In addition, she is survived by several brothers/sisters-in-law and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mary was preceded in death by her nephew, Christopher James Cook, whom she adored. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave.) 11 AM Saturday, May 10, 2014, with Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum as presider. Visitation will be Friday, May 9, 2014, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, with the Scripture Service at 7:30 PM at the Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., Muskegon, MI 49441, (231) 759-8565. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service (10-11 AM) at the church. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Muskegon High School Big Red Marching Band or the MHS Theatre Program.
