I have so many wonderful memories of my dear Aunt Mary Alice that I will cherish forever. From her trips to New Jersey and Arizona to visit us, her beautiful laugh and her cooking. I still have that stuffed shells recipe you gave to my mom many many years ago. THE BOMB! Her love for my Uncle and her ability to calm him down amazed me. From the first day we met until the end of your days, know that I loved you so very much. Thank you for straightening out that crazy Uncle of mine way back when. We were all so very thankful you came into his life. To my cousins Angela and Erik I am so very sorry for your loss. Hold onto those memories as they will get you through the hard days. Your mom was a very special lady, As you reunite with others in heaven Aunt Mary Alice, I can see my momma waiting for you with open arms. Give her a hug for me. WILL MISS THAT LAUGH MARY. IF THERE WAS A TIME TO MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY MARY WOULD BE THERE TO THINK OUT HOW TO DO IT. MY MOTHER GENEVA FUNK HOFFMAN, WAS IN A NURSING HOME AND MARY DECIDED ALL THE SISTERS AND BROTHERS OF GENEVA SHOULD HAVE A CHANCE TO VISIT HER HERE IN BUCKS COUNTY.. SO SHE GATHERED UP THREE CARS FULL OF FAMILY AND THEY DROVE DOWN TO SEE HER.WE HAD AN AFTERNOON OF TALKING ABOUT THE GOOD OLD DAYS AND SHE SPENT TIME WITH LAUGHING AND
MARY WAS THE LEADER IN IT ALL. DRIVING BACK TO THE HOUSE BEFORE THEY LEFT SHE SCOLDED MY HUSBAND JOKING ABOUT A BRIDGE TWO NARROW FOR HER LIKING TO DRIVE HER VAN OVER.. YOU COULD BE SURE TO LEAVE A PLACE WHERE SHE WAS THAT YOU DID NOT FEEL LIGHT. HEARTED.. ; I WILL. MISS THAT MARY.. REST IN GODS ARMS.

We are so sorry to hear of Mary's passing. We all grew up together, and will always remember the great times we had on the farm in Buck Mtn.
Mary was always cheerful, full of life, and always made us laugh. We will always cherish the memories. She will always be in our hearts.

I WORKED WITH MARY ALICE BACK IN THE SEVENTY'S, WHAT A PISTOL FULL OF ENERGEY VIGOR AND VIM WE HAD SO MANY GOOD TIMES JAUNTING AROUND TOWN IN HER LITTLE VOLKSWAGEN BUG WE LOST TOUCH FOR A WHILE AND THEN ONE DAY SHE CAME TO SEE ME WHEN SHE WAS IN HAZLETON VISITING FAMILY WE KEPT IN TOUCH BY PHONE AND SHE NEVER FORGOT MY BIRTHDAY WHICH MEANT A LOT TO ME. TO ANGELA AND ERIC YOU HAVE LOST A GREAT MOM AND I A GOOD FRIEND I WILL MISS HER AND I KNOW SHE WILL FLY WITH THE ANGELS AND WILL ALWAYS BE IN MY HEART RIP MARY ALICE

Brothers Russell, Rolland, and Milton Hoffman each became father to a baby girl in 1951:
Sandra (Russell) born March, Mary (Rolland) born August 2, Nita (Milton) born August 24. We girls started first grade together (no access to pre-school or kindergarten for us) at the Schwab building in Weatherly, Pennsylvania. Sandra moved away during elementary school. Mary and Nita graduated together in 1969.

I can't begin to express the sadness/loss I feel at Mary's passing. She had many fine, endearing attributes and was quick to show kindness. When multiple Hoffman cousins got together there was ALWAYS a lot of laughter and Mary was right there in the middle of it. We'd laugh so hard our ribs would hurt. When I was able to locate/pinpoint our great-grandfather Hoffman's unmarked grave, Mary was one of the first to contribute toward a headstone.

Mary had those beautiful blue eyes common to many on the Hoffman side of her family. Sandra also has those baby blues, while I'm a brown-eyed girl. Mary's stature and love for laughter were hallmarks of our paternal grandmother, Ethel Benjamin Hoffman. When I told our cousin, Harriet, that Mary had passed, she aptly replied, "The world has lost a free spirit."

My sincerest and deepest sympathies go out to Angela and Erik, as well as Mary's extended family.

If I could tell Angela and Erick one thing, it would be this: cherish the memories. It has been said that no one ever really dies, as long as someone remains to remember them.
