Mary L. Jones' Obituary
Mary Lynnea Jones, 100 years old, passed away on December 1, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Born to Ila and Oscar Gilbert on September 25, 1921 in Cadillac, MI. She married David Jerome Jones on December 25, 1938. Mary loved camping with her family and friends as well as playing cards with them. She was always excited to go to Orchard View Senior bingo, euchre and dinner dances. She called senior bingo from 1990-2017. She worked at Seal Power for years then went to Michigan Plastics where she retired in 1986. She is survived by her brother, Russell Gilbert; her children, David (Christian) Jones, Kacey (Laura) Jones, Paul (Merinda) Jones, Marilyn Oakes, Burl (Sandy Smith) Jones, Thomas (Michelle) Jones; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and even great-great-great-grandchildren. She has OVER 250 direct descendants, many loved nieces and nephews, as well as very close friends that were like family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Burl Gilbert, Homer Gilbert; sister, Bessie Garvey; and children, Loretta Gager and Danial Jones; grandchildren Kurt Gager, Rodney Jones and Lynnea Acosta. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 3:00 PM at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave., Muskegon, MI 49442. A visitation will be held one-hour prior. A Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 6-8:00 PM at The Sytsema Chapel.
