Mary L. Pennington's Obituary
Mary L. Pennington, age 79, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday morning, May 8, 2016. She was born September 23, 1936 in Muskegon to James N. and Anna E. (Shepard) Young; and had been a life resident of the area. Mary had been an area Realtor for Clyde Hendrick and Westwind Realty prior to her retirement. Mary enjoyed puzzles, bird watching and flower gardening and had previously enjoyed golf and tennis. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Douglas “Ivan” Ruud in 1969, her son, Darrell Ruud in 1992; her step-son, John Pennington in 2010 and by 2 brothers, Hugh and Bill Young. On April 7, 1973 she married Earl Pennington and he survives her along with 3 children, Pamela (Doug) Krause, Richard (Teresa) Ruud and Randall (Darlene “Dee”) Ruud; 5 step-children, Elizabeth (Kenneth) Smith, Nancy Pennington, Catherine Rosema, Kemmera Rosema and David Pennington; 24 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jim (Jackie) Young and Dale (Sharon) Young; 1 sister, Lois Allen and by numerous nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Mary will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231-798-1100) with Pastor Frank Zenobia officiating. VISITATION with Mary’s family will be 5-7:00PM Tuesday (May 17th) and one-hour prior to the service on Wednesday. You are also invited to sign the family’s Online Guestbook @ www.sytsemafh.com.
