Mary Elizabeth Leonard's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Leonard, age 61, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2014 at the Poppen residence. She was born March 25, 1953 in Muskegon to the late Harold and Mary (Witte) Dewald. Mary was a 1971 graduate of Muskegon High School and was employed as a Special Education Para Pro at Fruitport Public Schools until retiring in 2012. She was a fun loving person who loved spending time with family and friends on her pontoon boat on beautiful Blue Lake. She also loved taking her grandchildren for golf cart rides around all the lakes in the area. She married Tony Leonard in Muskegon on May 8, 1981. He survives her along with their children, Josh (Nicole) Leonard, Thomas (Kristin) Leonard and Amy (Jonathan) Keur all of Muskegon; 6 grandchildren, Caleb, Gavin, Bo and Charlotte Leonard, Alayna and Travis Keur; 2 brothers, Jim (Mary Lou) Dewald and Chuck Dewald; 4 sisters, Judy (Paul) Snuffer, Sandy (Ed) Drougal, Roz Krypel and Betty (Dennis) Tomorsky; her special friends, Peggy Dwyer-Marks, Muriel Toppen, Sue Loy, Patti Thrasher and Dona Morgan. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 5, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100. Pastor Douglas VanderMolen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. She will be laid to rest in Laketon Twp. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Hospice.
