Mrs. Mary H. McFarren's Obituary
Mrs. Mary H. McFarren, age 87, passed away Saturday morning, November 17, 2012, at the Poppen Residence. She was born October 23, 1925 in Muskegon to Fred Albert and Zoe (Ross) Buchholz; and had been a life resident of the area. Mary had been a homemaker and attended Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, while she enjoyed fishing, knitting and Bingo. On October 2, 1948, she married George Dexter McFarren and he preceded her in death on May 26, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Ida Baker, who raised her. SURVIVORS include 2 sons, Fredrick George McFarren and Bernard “Bud” (Rosa) McFarren, all of Muskegon; 2 grandchildren, Bud Alan (Margaret) McFarren and Sandy (Troy Matz) Benson; 5 great-granddaughters, Kalsey Rose Benson, Monica Nicole Benson, Alyssa Rae Benson, Salina Joleen Benson and Isabella Nicole McFarren. SERVICES will be 2PM Monday at Evanston Avenue Baptist Church, 1188 Evanston Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442, with the Rev. Allan J. Engstrom officiating. Burial will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Mary’s family will be one-hour prior to the service at Church.
