Mary Anne Micka's Obituary
Mary Anne Micka passed away in Goodyear, Arizona on Friday February 16th, 2024. She was born on March 2nd, 1943, to George and Edna (Matzen) Hibbard in Muskegon, Michigan. She was a Muskegon Catholic Central alumna (Class of 1961) and had worked in medical billing at Mercy Hospital. Mary Anne had been a member of St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church and was a member of the Rosary Altar Society, had volunteered, and been part of the prayer line led by dear Audrey. She was a Dominican Associate (Dominican Sisters) and a Beta Sigma Phi sorority member for over 50 years in Muskegon Chapter-Torchbearer Nu. She had volunteered at the Frauenthal Center.
After being widowed she moved to Arizona to live year-round with her son and granddaughter, whom she championed. She and husband had purchased the home for son and granddaughter and to abode while visiting, in 2012. She provided for and enjoyed the love of many pets at home, including dogs, cats, bunnies and hamsters. She shared bread and faith while in friendship with the Vallier Family.
On July 2nd, 1966, she married George P Micka III, he preceded her in death in 2018. Also preceded in death by son George P Micka IV, brother, Charles M Hibbard and nephew, Thomas Hibbard. She is survived by son Martin and granddaughter Adrianna in Arizona. And by her son (placed for adoption and reunited in 2021) Ron (Leslee) Crosby and grandson Cody in Michigan and nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, April 13, 2024, St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1716 6th St. Muskegon, MI 49441. Visitation with the family will be Friday, April 12, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm at The Walburn Chapel of Sytsema Funeral and Cremation Services 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. and one hour prior to the mass at church. Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
