Mrs. Mary Ann Miel's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Ann Miel, age 92, passed away Thursday morning, April 7, 2016 at The Riverside Nursing Home. Mary Ann was born September 29, 1923 to Clarence and Hazel (Thompson) Lindenau in Muskegon Heights. She was a graduate of Grand Haven High School. On June 10, 1942 she married Peter Lloyd Miel and he preceded her in death on November 12, 2006. Mary Ann was a member of Grand Haven Gospel Chapel and attended several other local churches where she taught Sunday School and was involved with the Child Evangelist Ministry. Mary Ann enjoyed traveling and camping, but above all, spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Jerry (Shirley) Miel of Tucson, AZ, Alberta (Jon) Dalke of St. Petersburg, FL, Beverly (Jim) Stone of Grand Haven, MI, Dan (Carol) Miel of Spokane , WA, Jim (Carrie) Miel of Grand Haven, Dale Miel of Ypsilanti , and Rhoda Miel of Ann Arbor; 17 grandchildren, 25-30 great-grandchildren; a brother, Bud Millard of Lawton, OK; a sister, Celaine Gardner of Muskegon; brother-in-law, Rudy Gerencer of Bailey, MI and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband Peter, Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Ann in 1995; brother, Kenneth Millard; and a sister, Marva Gerencer. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 2:00 pm Monday, April 11, 2016 at the Grand Haven Gospel Chapel, 1805 Waverly, Grand Haven with Pastor Ken Shady and Jerry Miel officiating . VISITATION will be Sunday afternoon from 2-5 pm at The VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home, 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven 616-842-6100. Burial will be made in Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to Grand Haven Gospel Chapel Children’s Activities or the Riverside Nursing Home.
