Mary Mistretta's Obituary
Mary Mistretta, age 83, of Demotte, IN formerly of Grand Haven passed away November 13, 2021. She was born July 3, 1938, in Grand Haven to Jack and Dorothy (Melvin) Mistretta.
Mary enjoyed working with her hands, she loved antiquing, refurbishing wood, and all-around tinkering. She loved the outdoors, plants, flowers, birds, camping and telling stories around the campfire. In her younger years, she was an avid dancer. She loved roller skating with her friends and especially with her brother Ron. She was always cheering on the underdog and helping those in need. Mary will be very missed.
Mary is survived by three children: Robin Rashin, Lisa (Chuck) Ponton, and Paulette (Mike) Bedka; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; sister, Norma Patton; son-in-law, Mark Lustig; special family friend, Steve Fancher. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kim Lustig; sister, Nancy Zarndt; brother, Ron (Barb) Mistretta; brother-in-law, Wayne Patton; and nephew, Bobby Mistretta.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2021, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 620 Washington Ave, Grand Haven, MI 49417. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.
