Mary "Monica" Moog's Obituary
Mary “Monica” Moog, 69, of Allendale, passed away peacefully on January 10, 2024, following a brief battle with pneumonia. Monica was born on November 1, 1954, to Jane (Lowe) and George “Ferris” Moog in Muskegon. After attending Whitehall High School, she independently pursued her passions for art, dance and music. Her zest for storytelling added joy and humor to countless people’s days. She had one child, Aaron Ogg, in 1981 during her second marriage. When Monica had Aaron, she dedicated her life to being an attentive and loving mother. Monica excelled at facilitating cohesiveness, growth, and healing among her family. Her most cherished final chapters were defined by building a beautiful life with Jeffrey C. Kinney, her partner of over 25 years. Monica was a woman of faith and turned to prayer in times of gratitude and grief. When she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found in thoughtful meditation or immersed in nature. Monica was predeceased by Jeffrey. She is survived by Aaron; his wife, Lori (Grantz) Ogg; and one grandchild, Jade Ogg. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Child Welfare League of America, 727 15th Street NW Suite 1200, Washington, DC 20005. No services are being planned for Mary at this time. Arrangements by The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 737 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI, 49442.
