Mary Jean Rostar's Obituary
Mary Jean Rostar of Muskegon, age 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2018. She was born on March 19, 1936, to George and Anna Rostar, in Muskegon, Michigan. Mary Jean graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School in 1954. She worked as a legal secretary for 30 years and was employed with the McCroskey Law Firm until her retirement in 1998. Mary Jean was a talented baker and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Michele (Charles) Dodge of Burkburnett, TX, Mark (Stefanie) Hekkema of Muskegon and David (Ruth) Hekkema of Norton Shores; four grandchildren, Stephanie (Shawn) Apfelbacher, Melissa Britt, Meredith (Joe) Rillema and Zoe Hekkema; three brothers, George (Fran) Rostar, James (Linda) Rostar, Edward (Linda) Rostar; and three sisters, Irene Scott, Rose (Dave) Johnson and Carmen Rostar. Mary Jean was welcomed by her grandson, Joey Hekkema; her parents, George and Anna Rostar; brother, John Rostar; and two sisters, Margaret Miller and Anna Balcom. A CELEBRATION OF HER LIFE will be held from 4-6 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 231-759-8565. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
