Mary Sharon (Kavanagh) Salois' Obituary
Mrs. Mary Sharon Salois, age 73, quietly passed away Saturday, January 3, 2015, in her sleep at home, in the loving care of her family, with her constant companion Finnegan at her side. She was born July 4, 1941 in Detroit, MI to the late Martin and Mary (Lapinski) Kavanagh. Mary was employed at Betten Chevrolet as the Receptionist for 14 years until retiring in 2012. Prior to that, she was a Teacher’s Aid at Kelloggsville Public Schools in Kent County, MI for many years. She was an animal lover and always enjoyed playing Scrabble, crossword puzzles, drinking iced tea and chatting with her friends. Mary was very open hearted and loving, and in return was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by 2 children, Patrick (Michelle) Salois of Fruitport, MI and Michael Salois, Jr. of California; a former daughter-in-law Wendy Salois; 6 grandchildren, Michael Patrick Salois, Melissa (Matt) Balint, Alexander Salois, Hannah Salois, Sean Salois and Jessica (Kruz) Barajes; 1 great-granddaughter, Meghan Balint; 1 sister, Maureen (Jon) Shelton of Monroe, MI; her former husband, Michael Salois, Sr of Allendale, MI; and her best friends, Barbara Dykstra and Margaret Paxton. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Pamela Cervi. A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at a later date.
