Mrs. Mary Jane Valentino's Obituary
Mary Jane Valentino, age 66, passed away on Monday June 8, 2015. Mary was born on September 11, 1948 in Queens, NY to George and Helen Schneck. She grew up in Brooklyn and immensely enjoyed her childhood summers spent on Long Island with family. She graduated from The Assysium Catholic High School in New York, NY in 1965 and became an executive secretary for many companies, a career she greatly enjoyed. In September 1980, she married Thomas Valentino and together they were blessed with one daughter Diana. Mary was a devoted mother, leaving her career to raise Diana full time. The family lived in Staten Island, NY and moved to Mohnton, PA 1988. In 1996, Tom and Mary relocated to the Muskegon area. Mary loved her family and especially loved her grandchildren. One of her biggest enjoyments in life was doting on them. She also enjoyed shopping, playing games, good conversation, and spending time with family and friends. She was a generous, caring, selfless, loving woman who will be deeply missed. Mary is survived by her husband Tom; daughter, Diana (Chuck) Burch; grandchildren, Henry and Charlotte; brother, George (Joyce) Schneck; sister, Helen Braunagel; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents. A MASS OF CATHOLIC BURIAL will take place on Thursday June 18, 2015 at 10AM at St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception Church, 239 West Clay Ave, Muskegon, MI. VISITATION will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI 231-798-1100. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Wounded Warriors or St. Mary’s of the Immaculate Conception.
