Mary A. Verhagen's Obituary
Mary A. Verhagen, age 89, went to be with her heavenly Father on Monday, November 27, 2023. She was born on January 12, 1934 in Rotterdam, The Netherlands to Reinier and Cora (Vaandering) VanWalsum and moved to the United States with her family in October of 1949. She was a former member of East Muskegon CRC Church and currently of Calvin CRC. Mary was talented at knitting and crocheting and was a big contributor of her crafts to the Winter Bazaar that supported the area Christian schools. Mary married Teunis “Tom” Verhagen on April 7, 1956 and he preceded her in death on June 9, 1990. SURVIVORS include two children, Dr. Connie (Dr. Michael Cerminaro) Verhagen and William (Pat) Verhagen; one grandson, A.J. (Kayla) Verhagen; and one great granddaughter, Amelia Verhagen. Mary was also preceded in death by her brother, Rien VanWalsum. Private family services will be held. Arrangements by The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S.
