Mrs. Mary L. Walton, age 79, passed away Sunday afternoon, October 26, 2003 in Muskegon. She was born February 3, 1924 to Luther and Edmonia (Jeffries) Gardner in Holly Springs, MS, and lived in the Muskegon area since 1961. She worked for the Muskegon Public Schools for 19 years before retiring, was a foster grandparent, and belonged to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Neal. She later married Willie Walton, who also preceded her in death. SURVIVORS include 6 children, Willie (Sheryl) Neal of Dublin, OH, Jerome (Patricia) Neal of Muskegon, Patricia (Eddie) Oliver of East St. Louis, IL, Deborah (Thomas) Reeths of Manistee, Lawrence (Edie) Neal of Colorado Springs, CO, Gwendolyn Walton of Muskegon; 14 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Walter Gardner of Muskegon; 1 sister, Eva Harris of Slidell, LA; a special friend of the family, Kristie Rittwage; a host of nieces and nephews. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11:00 AM Friday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 3086 E. Apple Ave. There will be no visitation. Memorials: Foster Grandparents.
