Mary Lou (Hassold) Wine's Obituary
Ms. Mary Lou (Hassold) Wine, age 72, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in Muskegon. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on December 6, 1950 to Erwin and Donna (Denhof) Hassold. Mary moved to Largo, Florida as an adult and worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant at The Vineyard Inn prior to her retirement in 2013. After retirement, Mary moved back to Conklin. She enjoyed garage sales, going to the beach, reading, and weekly shopping trips. Mary was a talented painter specializing in ocean and sunset paintings. She enjoyed spending time with her family, Saturday dinner dates at Logans with her daughter Dawn, and cuddling with her cat, Sam. Mary is survived by her four children, Dawn (Kurt) Dietrich, Cheri (Ben) Gereaux, Jonathan Smith, and Kristen (Scott) Root; seven grandchildren, Nicholas Zimmer, Alexis Gereaux, Halie Gereaux, Justice Smith, Ava Smith, Daisy Root and Madalyn Root; mother, Donna Hassold; sister, Lucie Kary; brother, Wayne Hassold; and special nieces, Chyanne, Tina, and Carrie. She was preceded in death by her father, Erwin, and former husbands and fathers of her children, Robert Zimmer, Stephen Smith, and William Wine. A MEMORIAL MASS will be held at 12:00 PM Thursday, October 12, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Church (2044 Gooding St., Conklin, Michigan). VISITATION will be one hour prior to mass.
