Mary Ann Prentice's Obituary
Mary Ann (Klamfoth) Prentice, RN, MSN, age 51 passed away Friday October 8, 2010. She was born May 23, 1959 to Richard and Delores (Saum) Klamfoth of Norton Shores. Mary Ann graduated from Mona Shores High School in 1977. In 1983 she received a B.S.N. in nursing from Grand Valley State, and in 1994 she received a M.S.N. from Phoenix University. Mary Ann was a caring and devoted nurse throughout her nursing career. She is SURVIVED by her loving sons, Anthony and Nicholas Prentice of Allendale; her parents, Richard and Delores of Norton Shores; her former husband, Edwin Prentice of Allendale. Also surviving are four brothers, Joseph of Fairfield, CA, Edward of Newnan, GA, Richard (Katherine) of Senoia, GA, and William (Ashley) of Lumberton, TX; two sisters, Anne (Daniel) Bitzer of Pinckey, MI and Ruth (David) Hekkema of Norton Shores; nieces and nephews, Audrey Bitzer, Aaron and Alexander Klamfoth, Meredith and Joseph Hekkema, and Evan and Carson Klamfoth; her aunts, Louise Scheibner, Judy (William) Anderson, and Betty Klamfoth; and special cousins, Sue and Charles Fudge. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Clarence and Eva Klamfoth, and Glen and Rose Saum; Uncles, Lawrence, LeRoy,William, and Clarence Klamfoth; Aunt Eva, Uncles Don and Glen Saum, Jr., Aunt Jo; cousins, Larry Klamfoth; and SFC Daniel Scheibner, while serving in Iraq. Mary Ann will always be remembered for her generosity and wonderful sense of humor. She is dearly loved. A MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be 11AM Thursday, October 14, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church (239 W. Clay) with Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding. VISITATION will be Wednesday from 5-8 PM at The Walburn Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc. 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. 1-231-759-8565 with the Rosary being prayed at 8 PM.
