Mary Elizabeth (Sample) Knoll's Obituary
Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Sample) Knoll, age 70, passed away at her home on Sunday, January 15, 2012, following a lengthy illness. She was born January 25, 1941 in Muskegon to Wilmer and Martha (Hale) Sample and lived all of her life in the area. Mary worked in the pharmacy at Meijer and later in the pharmacy at Mercy Hospital. She retired in 2003 after 24 years in the Muskegon County Clerk’s office as a deputy clerk. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include 2 children, Martha Jean Knoll-Loader of Norton Shores and Dennis Donald (Jodi) Knoll II of Muskegon; 7 grandchildren, Amanda (Andy) Sidel of Kalamazoo, Melissa Ann Knoll of Virginia, Kyle (Diana) Loader stationed at Mountain Home AFB, ID, Caitlin Mary Elizabeth (Brian) Broek of Michigan City, IN, Brianne Knoll of Muskegon, Nicholas Knoll of Detroit; Ethan Knoll of Muskegon; 3 great-grandchildren, Colton and Devin Loader and Conner Broek; 1 brother, David (Rose) Sample of Pittsburg, PA; and cousin, Delene (Bob) Ketelhut of Maryland. She was preceded in death by her parents. A CELEBRATION to remember Mary’s life with a luncheon will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 21, 2012 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, (231) 798-1100 with Ms. Denise Egan as facilitator. INTERMENT will take place at Lakeside Cemetery. VISITATION will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
