My sympathy to you, Dawn and Steve, in the death of Mrs. Bedwell, and my sympathy to Heather, also. I met your mom many years ago when I brought an ancient lampshade to her and she made me a new one. She even managed to use the trim from the old one. It belonged to my grandparents. It has been in my living room since she made it presentable again.

I was shocked and grieved to learn of Mary Ellen's death, but I'm elated for her that she is now with the Lord she loves so much. She was a blessing to those of us who live at Lloyds Bayou, not only because she led the Bible study, but also because the Spirit of Christ shown through her. When I had surgery she brought me a copy of "My Utmost for His Highest" which I read daily. Her note to me is my bookmark, so I'll always have her with me. I remember Mary Ellen from when she attended Spring Lake Wesleyan Church. My husband and I have attended there for nearly 30 years and I fondly remember many conversations with her and the times we volunteered together. Her sense of humor made working with her a joy. Her commitment to whatever task we were working on was evident. I admired her in so many ways.
I know you will miss her, but she will always be in your heart.

I was so sad to hear of Mary Ellen's passing. I knew her for seven or eight years through the hearing aid practice. She was a delightful person, with a beautiful smile and she was always so authentic. Whether it was talking about her time at Lloyd's, her family or grandchildren (favorite topic) she was enthusiastic and, I remember, her saying how she was committed to living every moment....nothing was going to get by her, she had too much to enjoy....her new hearing aids a couple years ago were part of her acting on this belief. She would remind me of this.
